Steve Lawson
General Manager

Steve Lawson has over twenty-three years of progressive management experience in golf and country club operations. He has been recognized for fostering professional development within his leadership staff, and has been a speaker on mentorship within the hospitality industry. Steve uses data to help enhance offerings and amenities to meet the current needs of our membership while preparing for the Club's vibrant future. He served as the AGM of Washington Golf & Country Club before taking on the role of GM/COO at Springfield.

Jordan Willis
Assistant General Manager

Jordan worked as the General Manager at Joe Theismann’s restaurant before joining the SGCC team as the Director of Food & Beverage in 2018. Throughout high school, college, and his adult life, Jordan worked in the restaurant/hospitality business cultivating and embracing new ideas and techniques. Like many in the business, he moved through the ranks over the years, hosting, serving, bartending, and managing in all areas of the business. Jordan was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2022.

Shelly Goorevich
Membership Director

Shelly has over 35 years experience in guest and customer service for luxury brands. Her career path has been focused on building long-term relationships,  creating unforgettable experiences, and providing personalized service. In her role as Membership Director, Shelly will help your family discover if SGCC is your home away from home, and introduce you to the community once you’ve joined so you can get the most out of your membership.

Emily Kauffman
Director of Communication

Emily joined the SGCC team in 2011. She has a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of Virginia and an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from Bennington College. Emily’s primary duties include running the Club’s website and social media, overseeing all Club communications, managing the monthly newsletter, and creating SGCC’s marketing materials, but she also uses her passion for helping children and her background as a Girl Scout Leader to plan the Club’s family and youth events.

Alessandra Maurtua, PGA
Director of Golf

Alessandra is a Class A Member of the PGA of America certified in Golf Operations and specialized in Executive Management. She has a service-oriented mindset and is passionate about mentoring and developing her staff. Ale believes in leading by example and is guided by her core values of respect, communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. She aspires to become a PGA Master Professional.

Robert Simpson, PGA
Director of Instruction

Robert enjoys teaching and coaching all skill levels and ages. He is committed to helping students play more consistent golf and to developing junior players into competitive athletes who enjoy the game for a lifetime. Robert believes all swings are uniquely different and is committed to adapting his training and approach to the strengths of the player in front of him. He uses an all-around focus on short game as well as course management to improve a student's game and lower their scores.

Shawn Gill
Golf Course Superintendent

Shawn has been in the golf course maintenance business since 1988. He graduated from Penn State and also studied at Rutgers. Shawn was previously the Superintendent at Lake Presidential Golf Course, and he brings a wealth of experience to SGCC. His passion stems from his love of golf which he believes is, hands down, the greatest game ever invented.

Branden Beets, USPTA Elite, USTA High Performance Coach, USPTR, PPR

Director of Racquet Sports
Branden is a USPTA Elite certified instructor, USTA High Performance Coach, USPTR and PPR certified, and a 4.5 rated USTA player. He has over 20 years of experience teaching and leading successful tennis programs. He coaches both adults and juniors, and is committed to cultivating an elite member experience.

Kristine is a USPTA Pickleball and Elite Tennis Certified Professional. After acquiring a BA degree in Food Science from Latvia University of Agriculture and work experience as Head of the Microbiology Department, Kristine moved to the United States to pursue a career in tennis. Her passion is helping players cultivate a sense of success by improving their game daily by a little bit. Her multicultural life experience helps her bring the best member experience on and off the court.

Slade earned many accolades during his college tennis career at Goucher. As a coach, he enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities. One of Slade's strengths is developing player pathways based on a player's personal goals. He is a USPTA certified instructor and a certified pickleball coach.

Jonathan Moyer, USPTA Elite, CRSE, PPR

Racquets Professional
Jonathan came to SGCC from The Country Club of Fairfax where he worked as the Director of Racquets. Before that, he was the Assistant Tennis Director, Director of Platform Tennis, and Director of Pickleball at The Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, PA. Besides his hobbies of working out, football, and wakeboarding, Jonathan looks forward to providing the Springfield racquets program an element of fun, laughter, and energy that all levels of our membership will enjoy.

Andrew played tennis for The College of New Jersey, and captained the team during the 2019 season. His team qualified for the NCAA Championships and won the first New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament in 2020. Andrew enjoys coaching players of all ages and focuses on connecting and building positive relationships with his students.

Reggie Edwards
Director of Fitness

Functional fitness and training with variety are central to Reggie's training philosophy. He has been a certified personal trainer for 20 years, and is certified through the National Strength Professionals Association, is a Golf Conditioning Specialist, and has experience with US Marine Corps classes in fitness. Reggie enjoys helping people reach their goals and focuses on making the process as fun and enjoyable as possible.

Angelica Imaca
Personal Trainer & Massage Therapist

Angelica holds a certification in Personal Training from American Muscle & Fitness. She works closely with clients to help them obtain their health and fitness goals through the development of a workout routine that best suits their individual needs. Angelica is also a Licensed Massage Therapist with a clinical background. She specializes in Myofascial Release Therapy, trigger point, orthopedic/medical therapeutic massage, aromatherapy, and prenatal/postpartum massage.

Teisha Rollerson

Teisha is committed to helping her clients achieve their best life through massage, skin care, and prioritizing self-care. She is a certified practitioner of Thai massage through the Thai Institute of Healing Arts and pursued advanced training including Thai Foot Massage, Thai Herbal Compress Massage, and East-West Fusion Bodywork through the Shivagakomarpaj Lineage. Teisha also practices Stretch Therapy, PNF, Dry Cupping, and Bamboo Massage. She is a licensed esthetician specializing in European Signature Facials and Back Facials.

Travis attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in London. After graduating with diplomas in cuisine and pastry, Travis moved back to the States to begin his culinary career. Although his early experience was in hotels, Travis has spent most of the last two decades working in private country clubs.

Lindsay Webb
Pastry Chef

Lindsay began her career at a wholesale bakery in Rhode Island before working at Chevy Chase Country Club as an Assistant Pastry Chef where she spent nine years plating fine dining desserts and baking fresh bread daily. Cake decorating is Lindsay’s first love and she took a position at Amphora Bakery to hone her decorating skills and gain experience with 3D and fondant-based cakes. Lindsay has been delighting the SGCC membership with her delectable desserts since 2018. During the pandemic, Lindsay began her own small business, Puff Pastries.

Jody Henderson
Director of Catering & Special Events

Jody moved to the DMV after graduating from the University of Iowa. With 20+ years experience in the food and beverage industry, Jody has spent the last nine years catering events for groups of all sizes in a variety of private and public venues around the DC metro area. With an interest in menu planning, event execution, and genuine care for her clients' needs, Jody loves having a home base at SGCC to help clients celebrate through food and fellowship.
